Pakistan
Telecommunication Corporation (PTC) was formed in 1990 by assets and
liabilities of T & T Department to undertake telecommunication
business in Pakistan. It provides local, national, internationl
telephone services & a wide range of other services including telex,
telegraph and leased circuits. Plans are to privitize the company by
selling 26% of the equity and management to a strategic buyer. In 1994,
600 million vouchers convertible to 100 shares each were sold to public.
Tax Holiday to expire in 1998.
